Fraud in medical research
P. Wilmshurst
Consultant cardiologist, Royal Stoke University Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 6QG, UK

I believe that self-regulation by institutions and the medical profession has failed. Therefore a new system for investigating research misconduct is required, with legal sanctions.
