Influence of myelin basic protein charge isomers on IL-33 and galectin-3 expression in astrocytes

Expression of the alarmins IL-33 and galectin-3 in astrocytes was measured after incubation with myelin basic protein charge isomers C1 and C8. From the results it is inferred that C8 initiates the inflammatory process in astrocytes, and in the late stage C1 is involved in the recovery process.
