Exploring neuroscience at the nanoscale

The applications of nanotechnology to neuroscience are reviewed. The main areas of current activity are the miniaturization of the electrodes used to study neurons and the use of nanoparticles stimulated to trigger action potentials in individual neurons, or subpopulations of neurons, in a living brain.
