Nanotechnology is usually associated with toxicity through the potentially adverse health effects of nano-objects. Nanometrology is, however, able to powerfully assist in the characterization of potentially toxic doses of chemicals in general and the response of biological tissues to them. Furthermore, nanotechnology is associated with a particular manner of investigation that may yield invaluable insight into toxicological processes.
