A theory of proton and election transport by redox enzyme reactions via a shuttle: II. Discussion based on numerical treatment of the kinetics and evolution of the redox potential gradient

The correlation between enzyme activities, transport fluxes, carrier concentration, membrane selectivity and redox potentials were investigated both in intrinsically reversible and irreversible reactions. The analysis was extended to processes controlled either by diffusion or by reaction rates or when these rates are of comparable order of magnitude.
