An attempt at estimating the energy of hydrogen bonds formed by water molecules in the second triplet position was made on the basis of comparison of the thermodynamic denaturation enthalpies of collagens with different hydroxyproline (Hyp) contents and collagen-like peptides (Pro-Hyp-Gly). It was shown that the binding energy in the first and second positions is equal to 6.5 ± 0.5 kJ/mol.
