Calorimetric and viscometric investigation of the DNA-adriablastin complex has shown that interaction between adriablastin and DNA occurs. The calorimetric investigations show that a dramatic decrease of the specific enthalpy takes place upon adriablastin addition, which indicates the destruction of stacking between bases. The results of the viscometric investigations of the adriablastin-DNA complex imply that intercalation of adriablastin into the DNA structure occurs. This is evidenced by the increasing viscosity of the adriablastin-DNA complex. The experimental results obtained allow the possible mechanism of action of adriablastin as an anticarcinogenic drug to be suggested
