Characterization of a liquid tissue phantom in the visible region
A liquid tissue phantom made of Intralipid and drawing ink is described
and characterized. The preparation procedure is fast and easily implemented
with standard laboratory equipment. Instrumentation for time-resolved
reflectance measurements is used to determine the optical properties of the
phantom in the 560–700 nm wavelength region. The absorption and the reduced
scattering coefficients increase linearly with ink and Intralipid concentrations.
Key words: time-resolved spectroscopy; tissue-like phantoms;
reduced scattering and absorption coefficients
